Old news bro.
I know the article was old but didnt see any posts on here about it. Sorry if its a repost.
Ah ok. No problem
yeah sorry for the repost again.
I searched travis county trapster but no results..
I actually think that this system only makes them more money and actually makes the roads more unsafe.
for example, if one officer posts that he is sitting at a certain spot but another officer doesnt, most regular trapster users dont have other countermeasures so they assume that all LEO's are giving their position away so they are more likely to speed. If that makes sense.
I wish we could get into the GPS systems and see where all LEO's were at.
From the article:
"If I can get my compliance with out writing a ticket-- I've done my job," said Carpenter.
He's now logged on to the very same app that's ratted-out his location for years. He's known on Trapster as TCMotor18. His alliance with the speed trap app has caught the attention of Trapster's creator and owner Pete Tenereillo. He saw our FOX 7 News report that featured Carpenter."
You know, I am always suspect when I hear a cop talking up an idea which obviously takes away revenue. I think they do it for PR more than legitimately liking the device, website etc.
Now I know that there are some police who obviously do like these devices, but I believe most just think they help "the bad guys" avoid tickets.
I think teh Fritter should follow this Travis County LEO's example, join Trapster as well, and post the locations of his speed traps. What do you think Fritter? You'll still bag plenty of dumb Cobra users to satisfy your appetite.
