Won't even make a dent. There just aren't enough cops.

Eating a hamburger is now distracted driving too? How about a coffee cup - or does having a coffee cup in the car's cup holder carry the same judiciary evidence as an open beer container now in CA? Rolling down a window to let the bee out distracted too? Naw. Just write a ticket and let the judge figure it all out and how much to charge.

California is getting beyond belief. Any law one can dream up passes to make a buck. Helmets for the bathtub slip-and-falls will be next. We may also get the extra $10 per vehicle tax for dirty air from the summer wild fires too in some valley parts of the state.

Now they are considering some crash-cam installed on all car dashboards, AB1942. If you do something wrong, your insurance walks or hikes?

If anyone thinks there are too few cops, try going to a CA traffic court now. They are full up, backed-up, and the fines announced are often in the $800-$900 average now while you sit and wait to be called. Judge doesn't want to listen to any reason and cuts them off. If they want to argue, he sends them on their way out the door with the bailiff with the closing announcement, "I'll mail you my decision (i.e. "You're guilty!")." Being a day late in paying the fine is $30 too. My state income taxes are close to what some are being charged with all the court's newly added fees for the county. The traffic fine is a fraction of the end-result fee now.

No wonder the Uhaul place is filled with trucks and people leaving the state, even the country.
