State trooper shortage causing safety concerns in Southwest Virginia

Last time I was through that part of Va on I-77 I saw 6 people pulled over in less than 70 miles. Didn't seem like they have much of a shortage to me.

I'd like to see the safety stats. etc.

WHY do they need more troopers? Don't troopers mainly do traffic and backup local LEOs?

They don't NEED more troopers. Anyone who has driven through VA can vouch for this. I say cut the number of troopers in VA by 50 percent; that would be a good start.

You are confused, government lingo for safety is money!! It's not that safety is lacking due to the "shortage", it's revenues are lacking and more troopers can help solve that problem!!!

This is bull****, Hellginia is a terrible state and VSP always has people pulled over all over the place. They do those bull**** speeding crackdowns every other week. I don't wanna hear they have a shortage of troopers. If they had 200 more troopers VA torture to drive through.
