This is horrible news. I would rather they use Radar or Laser vs Pacing or Vascar. BOO!

Vascar is not permitted either. All speed detection devices are covered by the permit from the State. Only pacing and visual estimation are allowed.

But never fear they have pulled in a bunch of extra troopers and DPS officers to run radar and lidar in Gwinnett until they figure this out. The County coffers will not run dry from a lack of speed enforcement!!

Yea it's going to hurt the independent cities since the troopers and DPS will be on the major routes more than the city streets!!!

Did you hear at the very end they said they might use unmarked cars for pacing. I thought using unmarked cars for speed enforcement was illegal in GA ? Also watch those Vascar lines on 85 I have a feeling they are going to start using them again.

"Cpl. Ritter says one option officers may look to for catching drivers who exceed the speed limit is to use unmarked cars to case vehicles on the road. "

No it's only illegal to use speed detection devices from unmarked cars.

Here's a new letter from traffic prosecutors with guidelines for GA traffic enforcement.
