Now this is the worst case of police injustice i have ever seen.
Thompson, of St Augustine Avenue, Grimsby, was charged with wilfully obstructing a police officer in the course of her duties and found guilty when he appeared at Grimsby Magistrates' Court last week.
He was fined s175 and ordered to pay s250 costs and a s15 victim surcharge after the half-day hearing. Hopefully he appeals.
So I guess trapster, radio stations and CB users reporting speed traps should watch out cause they are next.
I guess the law prevails....
the guy was an idiot and so was his lawyer if he used one. These are pretty easy to win, make the police prove the reason he flash the lights to warn on coming traffic... Can not be done they can not prove his intent if he kept his mouth shut.
Since my high beams and lights are on the turn signal arm I am always accidentally flashing my high beams.

In my opinion, there's many ways that the United States is different from other countries. One way is like this case...while in some states you could be cited for flashing your headlights, you would never actually be arrested for it. If you were, you could easily get out of that one as other people mentioned.
I've seen MANY court cases in other countries, specifically in highly developed parts of Europe, that wouldn't go beyond a preliminary hearing here in the US but receives a full conviction and sentencing, without appeal, over there.
And the courts charged him S15 for "victim surcharge" WTF??? There's no victim in what he did. Hell, there's no victim in speeding either but at least that's more believable than a victim for flashing his lights.
