No-one seems to mention that a LEO can train his dog to give a false hit at will so he can get his probable cause.

It mentioned that on the second page. It was kind of hard to navigate that news site. It said an officer can tug on a leash or give different commands that the public may not recognize so the dog will set up as if there was a detection.

Cops are so full of ****. Here in Virginia we had a dog trainer put "police dogs" on the street as certifed. He was charging the State of Virgina several thousand dollars for basically ****ing Lassie that he rescued from the pound.

DCJS "Department of Criminal Justice Services" finally got there **** together and changed the whole certification because of this crook.

The guy never trained the dogs in his life.
I am to lazy to find the story but I am sure some one can if they would like.

This has been one of the biggest scams that cops use for PC and has been for years. **** pisses me off.

Our local police dog was hit by a car a couple of days ago and had to be euthenized.

Not a problem guys. I know the O'Fallon, Missouri Dogs have been in the news nationally for their good records.

There was posting here about an x-Texas ranger whole worth with the DEA and Immigration and this was his exact complaint and why he left the force. He was a drug dog and he said it had gotten to the point where the DEA and police was using the dogs to gain access to cars which they would not have otherwise had PC to do so. He said it was easy to get the dog to react the way you wanted them to back up their claim drugs were present.

In the article they justified the poor results on the fact that drugs were present at some time and that is all the dog is smelling. Well there is a stat out that over 90% of US $20 bill have drug residue on them so testing someone's money for drugs would lead to PC for a search of them. So if you bough an old drug runner car I guess you can be search all the time.

The drug dogs they use in the airport and such places have a much higher success rate, why because there is no incentive for those dogs to get it wrong the more times they are wrong the more wasted time the police have dealing with finding nothing.

In the case of reacting to the car, even if it does not have drugs they are more likely to find out that person in the car had done something else wrong so the ends justify the means.
