He won't be poor after the lawsuit is settled.
I do feel bad for the guy though... one day he leaves and he has a 'fix-er-upper', he comes back a few days later... and has a dirt lot. As stated though... the guy is going to get mucho bucks out of this, and certainly he will be moving into a better neighborhood in a new(er) house.
He knows how to play it perfectly for the camera though... "My dreams crushed"... "I wanted a piece of Pittsburgh" "What do I have now!?! A lot...?"
Perfectly played by him... so he can go on to sue for a large amount of money.
-FWIW: The contractor did do a nice job... that lot was left pretty well perfect, except for the house that should have been there.
