    I like this statement

And Trooper Bergland knows; he's been trained in an emergency vehicles operation course, teaching him how to safely handle dangerous U-turns and catch up to speed demons. He says traveling over 100 miles an hour feels shaky and lifts up the body of the vehicle.

"It floats more, it feels like the tires aren't tracking, it's a little bit more unstable," says Bergland.

Your tires squeal, and your steering fails.

"The vehicle dynamics are so much different with how the vehicle loads," says Bergland.
Very true for a crown vic, not true for my BMW, my car is as stable as 120 MPH as it is at 60MPH. I'll give this, at 120 MPH in my BMW you do not know how close you are to death as you would in a crown vic.

When a car shakes and does things you do not expect then you know you are about to die, the modern car today is usually stable so people have no clue they are about to die.

It depends on your car and its condition (tires, brakes, shocks etc.) as well as the road and terrain you're driving in.

A late-model BMW in the desert on a wide open, smooth, flat, divided highway could do 118 safely. A 1991 Ford Tempo, no. In hilly and curvy terrain, no. And 118 in a residential or school zone is just asking for someone to die, hopefully the idiot behind the wheel and not some innocent bystander.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

LOL, I was going to quote the same statement. My Bimmer feels like it is on rails at 120 mph. Not that I would travel that fast..... it's illegal

Mind you a motorcycle gets more stable the higher the speeds you go (a Well maintained modern sportbike in proper order I should say).

It really depends on the car. My garbage 2004 V6 Mustang feels shaky at 95mph. But a new Porsche would be really stable at 110.

I don't ever speed. I do 10 under the speed limit.

    Just joking.
