Motorcyclist posted video on YouTube as BEASTEDonYOU2
- Yarmouth police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a motorcyclist clocked at 120 mph in a 35 mph zone on Station Avenue in South Yarmouth, according to a Yarmouth police release. Yarmouth police discovered a video clip on YouTube.com showing a speed monitor awareness trailer clocking a motorcycle at 120 mph. The radar apparatus was placed on Station Avenue in the school safety zone at the beginning of this school year, police said.
The video is believed to have been made at night, on or around Sunday, September 11, 2011, according to police. In the video, uploaded to the user account BEASTEDonYOU2, a motorcycle passes by the radar equipment registering 120 mph in the 35 mph zone. BEASTEDonYOU2 has uploaded two other videos to that user account showing similarly dangerous driving in other areas on Cape Cod.
When located, the motorcyclist in the video will be issued an $850 speeding citation and Yarmouth police will file a report with the MA Registry of Motor Vehicles requesting immediate license suspension. Reckless operation of a motor vehicle charges will also be filed. Such criminal charges could result in permanent loss of license and up to two years in prison.
As of Wednesday evening, the video was removed by the user from YouTube.com and the channel/account was closed.
Anyone with information about this incident or the person seen driving in the video is encouraged to contact the Yarmouth Police Department at 508-775-0445 or email the department at firstname.lastname@example.org
