... but they will still prosecute speeding tickets.

There's no revenue in domestic violence. If they could make solving real crime put money in the coffers, they'd be on it like flys on an unattended jelly donut.

That explains why the real criminals are always busy doing things like robbing stores when all the police will do about a robbery is take "the report" bringing in 15 police cars to the scene of the crime to put on a good dog & pony show when all it does is bring them all further away from another potential target (store). What are the 15 of them going to do? Solve the crime? Other than watch the video, there isn't a damn thing they are going to do. If they aren't giving the criminal his copy of the report, you have 15 failures instead of 1 or 2... Oh, then they setup a block-aide in your apartment complex's main entrance and ask everyone to pop their trunk and demand ID when you say "NO."

**** the police. All they do is screw with innocent people going about their own business... like the robber is going to be in anyone's trunk... They robbers are already so stupid they actually go to the effort to rob a 7/11 at 11:00 for the $80 in the cash drawer because they are such loosers they haven't figured out that just showing up to work at a real job is going to earn you more than that doing basically NOTHING more than answering email and attending meetings planning to do work you haven't done.

One set of robbers (cops) robbing from the robbers (robbers) does not make good business sense! To get more robbers (cops) on the streets robbing the innocent requires more robbers (robbers) in the houses to justify the extra robbers (cops).

This doesn't make much sense, but I do see your point.

Do I think the cops would stop a crime... YES... If they are at the right place at the right time. Murphy's law says that rarely happens. It isn't like the cops have a toll-free line criminals can call in and say, "I am Frank Smith and will be robbing ____ at 1234 Street Rd on Thursday the 15th at 11 PM..." to setup reservations.

    *****************

Okay, that isn't their fault. This is:

After a robbery they swarm the place that was robbed with like 15 police cars and 21 cops. Why? What are they going to do catch the robber? He is gone! That is the LAST place he is going to rob again the same night, so it is NOT a good place to be. Instead, put 2 cop cars in the front and call it good!

The other 13 cop cars if they want to be useful can go to every convience store, 24 hour Grocery Store, open restaurant, and gas station. Then you have armed security. It is more likely to think the crook is on a robbing spree! It is common he may hit another location the same night. For all we know he is $200 short on his rent and only got $80 on the last robbery... it is plausible.

... but instead they setup a roadblock 1 block away in the entrance of a luxury apartment complex and harass the tenants having them open the trunk as if the plan is that someone will sneak someone out in a trunk. Heck no! If anything... helping someone would be sneaking them IN! If someone was going to help hide the person it would be in an apartment, and it would be a perfectly safe place to lie low. The police aren't quite basely enough to knock on all the doors and ask to search apartments at 11 PM at night without probable cause... give them 10 years and they probably will! By morning, it would be perfectly safe for the perp to walk away in plain view all the way across town. At his slow rate of travel, he would be passed by no less than 30 cop cars in his slow, 5 mile walk, but NOBODY would ever catch/suspect him. It is NOT like they printed his blurry picture from the video and put it in each cop car.... because THEY DON'T CARE. They AREN'T there to solve crime! Cops exist to collect revenue as Duty #1. They don't work for the people; they work for the State or town or whomever the collect money for... and as soon as tax payers figure this out the sooner they can pay fewer taxes and get rid of some of the tax collectors.

^^^^ This is my problem with police. They don't even try to solve crime. One thing they do right is they do keep the videos and hope to one day get lucky and by the miracle of God catch the crook in the act! Other than that they enforce stupid codes on innocent drivers, and then harass normal, every-day people for inspections of trunks, papers, etc. I am sorry buddy, but you are too slow, too late, and have a poor strategy!

Meanwhile on my trip to the grocery store this evening, I got RADARed 3 THREE times in 5 miles. They are after the WRONG people!

If it were me, I would call in EVERYONE (but maybe 1 patrol car) and have them go to locations and park in the back or a discreet area and observe other businesses to see if the robber hits another place! If yes, you arrest that person... and compare it to video to verify it is the same perp! <== Then you solve two crimes the same night... But no they would rather look in trunks of tenents with luxury cars who live in a nice neighborhood, look for speeders, and swarm the place that was already hit in a robbery.

Well this is a good idea... should be exciting as a little experiment.

    I think you are confused.

The DISTRICT ATTORNEY is going to stop prosecuting these cases. In other words: This has nothing to do with the police (they will still likely go out to the calls/disputes)... the police have nothing to do with prosecuting.
