These cops deserve murder charges. They went way past the line in the sand.
Basic rule, don't put your hands on a cop. Even if you do know them, if the are in uniform-don't put your hands on a cop.
I had something similar happen to me. I was struck in the head with a bottle by a person that I had arrested weeks prior. I was off duty out with some other LEOS.
He ran after throwing the bottle. After a short foot chase he was caught.
