I don't think it would effect camera systems at all. Even the speed/red light cameras have worked around most plate covers specifically designed to defeat them.
I e-mailed the site that makes that and they never replied. Do you know anywhere else to order it? I want the one that changes to a white plate and not black/grey.
OK, as everyone here knows, I'm *seriously* interested in this kind of gadget.....
Everyone here who knows me knows that I *don't* run reds, nor speed on surface streets - and that my "thing" with the RLCs/speed-cameras is philosophical.
I'd really like to equip my car's plates with such covers.
But why is it that every time one of us tries to contact one of these companies, they never respond?
Why is it that they all seem to be vaporware?

Is it just me that doesn't seem to get your logic?! It doesn't even make a statement to 99.99% of people. Maybe a bumper sticker would make a better statement.

Look at my reply to the poster, replying to that news segment.

With this particular countermeasure, I'm just looking to satisfy myself, that's all.
All that I'm trying to explain, by my post that you cited, is the reason why I want to own this particular countermeasure - and why I've been serious about trying to procure it.
And also to express my frustration, same as noTe.

Yea for real it's not that hard to make, it's the same thing as a calculator display.. why hasn't any one seriously started marketing it yet?

omg tsi, I just replied to that idiot in that news article. Tex Transp. Code requires notification of redlight cams 100 feet before the intersection -- does that mean the government is helping the citizens 'obstruct justice' seeing as how the gps mirror does basically the same thing verbally instead of visibly? God some people are a$$hats

I like those, but I think I prefer the Plate Flipper. Not only is the plate flipper cheaper, but it also gives you the ability to show a bogus plate instead of no plate at all. Think of the benefits! You flip a switch and your plate disappears, but anyone looking will see a plate with a bogus number! So the cops won't be looking for you. They'll be looking for the vehicle with the bogus LP number.

There ya go. That's the key! Preferably from another state, with a completely different colour too. If you're in a white plate state, and your fake plate is yellow or blue, there will be absolutely no mistaking you. In fact, they probably won't even send the ticket out.
