I am thinking about making a program that checks using GPS if there is a common false alert under a certain frequency, and if so the radar detector will still go off, but will be quiet and list it as a false alert.
So let’s say on your way to work every day you drive past the same shopping center and the same false alarm goes off every day in the same spot. Would it be a good idea to have GPS record that spot with the false alert, and after it goes off enough times in the same spot it will automatically remember it in a database as a false alert so the annoying beeping of the radar detector does not go off in that spot any more?
Does anyone know of any software that does this? If I get the time I might do it myself if I can not find anything I am satisfied with in the distant future.
I was thinking of using my bel rx65 pro’s speaker output jack as a way to plug it into a gps device. Just make a program that detects through the speaker input jack on a computer. If a tone goes off then it will, check and log the coordinates via gps, and then output it via its speakers. An easy way to use a radar detector without opening it up.
Suggestions, comments? Thanks.
