Red Light / Speed Cameras are marked for ALL red light cameras in North America.

Some cameras we have are set with what is called "radius marking". This alerts the camera to an approximate 200 - 500 yard radius from the camera in any direction. The distance varies with the surroundings. This type of alert is very effective however it's not ideal for all situations.

If a camera does not take violation images in all directions, then it's more effective to alert with a heading and alert point alert method. This is where NavAlert patent pending SAT Smart Alert Technology comes into play.
SAT gives the NavAlert the ability to alert a precise pre set location and heading. When a location is programmed into our database with an alert point, it will no longer alert as a radius marking, but rather only once the vehicle has passed the alert point.

This type of alert is valuable in locations where multiple cameras are in close proximity or where a speed camera or speed trap is being used. This type of alert is also ideal when a speed camera has other roads that enter into the zone however do not enter the violation area. SAT is also superior when used at a highway underpass where the camera is located above the underpass where traffic below should not be alerted. Another scenario would be when a speed camera or trap is located inside or directly outside of a tunnel because the GPS signal inside the tunnel is lost, so the alert point is set prior to the driver entering the tunnel.

If your NavAlert has alerted to a location that you believe should be using the SAT method, you will need to contact us with the exact location of the alert. The next time you are at this alert location SAFELY park within 50 yards of the alert position then pres the menu button on your NavAlert. This will display your location in DMS format.

Example:
49.9519 -97.0510

Accurately write down this location. You will now need to use the contact us page located at http://www.navalert.com and inform us why you believe this location requires a SAT setting.

Valid reasons for request (include images of location and equipment if
possible)
- Camera does not take images in all directions.
- Multiple cameras in close proximity.
- False alert; traveling on another road which crosses the cameras radius zone causing the unit to alert to red light camera though this road does not intersect with the camera.
- Speed Camera at this location unit alerted to Red light Camera, but did not announce speed. You must include speed limit and if possible picture of speed limit sign on that road.
- Speed trap directional - the speed camera or speed trap is directional.
