I am a proud owner of a bell STi and I know that RD just cannot be detected. So I am not that worried about legalities.
So is it even worth me getting a navalert. I live in Barrie Ontario and I can detect laser radar traps fine and I also have vail and we don't have any red light cameras and I also don't take the 407.
However I do know that navalert is "legal" but more to the point I think it would be a great Idea if this device could work with a regular GPS unit since I have no GPS in my car and having threats displayed on a map along with audio sounds would be a great idea. That way I could use the GPS to navigate as well as using the navalert for all my detection.
I have heard of this device being able to detect rd and laser, but how well against something like a Bell STi?
the problem I have is that I don't want to invest in this only for it to become obsolete by a navalert that does work as a regular navigation system as well or the next version to come with an LCD.
I would rather get a navalert with those features already.
Or, I would think it would be a bit over kill when I own a bell Sti and this doesn't make any difference. Or to have a navalert and a separate GPS system.
That would mean way to many gizmo's in my car and I don't think I could handle a dozen or so voices and beeps all coming at me. Anyways whats your thought?
I did write to navalert but all they have said so far is that I could use the navalert with a laptop, which throws the idea of this device as being "compact."
and that it was a "simple" device. But it didn't really answer my questions on what this unit can or cannot do.
The demo video just shows it being a fancy RD, something I already have.
On a separate note I Sooooo glad I finally got on this forum!!! It has taken me for ever since I wasn't able to receive the confirmation email.
