    Default MIRT Technology

I know of a counter measure device. Anyone ever seen or used a MIRT or know anything about the technology.

    I love scanners also: pro 95, BC895xlt, pro-2053,BC785D,Uniden BC244,Pro-2006.

I know of MIRT and I'm very much against it. I think it's just downright irresponsible to use it.

Yeah, I have seen them around not sure if they actually work. I know some cities that have encoded there systems so they don't work. I was wondering how they do that?

I don't know how you make them not work, but I know one royal...can't say bad words here so I won't say what he is royally...who uses it in Chicago and he says it works.

Just so you all know, even though MIRTs are being sold (I think they still are) to the public, they are against the law to use by anyone other than LE/EMS/FIRE/RESCUE. It is a major safety hazard to the public if used by the average Joe/Joedet.

It's not even considered a counter-measure, but an actual threat to human life.

My advice for anyone who has that much of a problem with traffic is take the money that you would spend on a selfish, dangerous, illegal device and put it toward a satellite radio. You may think I'm being ridiculous but I'm not. I was given one as a gift last year and it's really amazing how much lower my stress levels get when I have something decent to listen to. (Especially since I hate changing CDs when I drive.)

That's some very sound advice, Brick.

Yeah it makes NO SENSE for ANYONE other than government employees to use MIRT's. They DO works and can kill someone.
