Default An idea to cut down on lidar reflectivity of Plates

I bought a plastic Create a Plate and it was really terrible for my province. Font was wrong and the letters were crooked. So I got to thinking.

What about having it painted in non-retroreflective paint? Exact color and match to the original but just not reflective. There are plate restorers on the net and I'm sure they could handle the job. Here is a link to one of them

Its the first one I googled and I know nothing about him its just a link to get an idea of what I mean. What do you guys think?

Very expensive, and they don't have any modern grahics in their gallery.

Hah! I doubt it. That guy that runs cr8apla8 is a prick and I'm sure for what one plate costs he'll just tell you to go to hell.

He didn't seem like too much of a prick when I contacted him a long time ago, could you elaborate from experience??

Hmm, his PO Box is at the same Post Office as mine ... I could help with complaints .

Kidding of course ... but I would expect my CR8APL8 to be perfect ....

The create a plate thing is my personal experience. From what I've heard some are happy and their plates turned out pretty good. Seems to depend on the state/province. I couldn't be bothered chasing down $25 internationally over the phone. I knew that when i tried it I was chancing it and ohh well guess I wasted $25.

Just did a little more reading and that Daryl guy (the link I posted above) sounds like a douche so I don't think you should use him.

Now put aside the pricing and all that because we don't need retorations and think of my idea.

How about having a decent artist color match and repaint our plates in non-retrorelective paint. Wouldn't that be a good solution?

Wink Re: An idea to cut down on lidar reflectivity of Plates

What might also help is if we formed a list of "States" from CR8APLT that "DID" and "DIDN'T" work perhaps that would help "Future." Consumers not make the "Same" mistakes.?

Anybody else agree? Maybe we should start a list everyone just add their states in this post, and then we'll make a running list of what states or Provinces you got and if they turn out commonly or not?

Just like we do for Radar Bands per town/municipality.. Maybe we can sticky it somebody??
