Humming Bird Fish finder = radar jammer? - Prob BS
Ok Ready for this one?
SO, I was talking to a trucker the other day about CB's and what not, then we were talking about speeding.
He claims (and swore by) using a 'humming bird fish finder' with programmable depth and remote transmitter (the finder) Set the depth at say 60 ft and mount the transmitter in the front of your car. It will send out a signal that your car is going 60 even if your doing 80. He also warned to turn it down to say 30ft if your going down city roads b/c leo gun will read 60mph even if your doing 30.
claims he and his buddies use a unit from 'walmart' and its $60-70bucks
Re: Humming Bird Fish finder = radar jammer? - Prob BS
Sir, you show me the guy whole told you that, and anyone who believes that, and I will show you an idiot(s).
Thats just plain stupid, and no it will not work at all... for VARIOUS reasons.
EDIT: You can change the 'Prob BS' to CERTAIN BS.
The only thing I could think of... is that when an LEO notices you have a fish-finder hooked up to jam his radar, he gets such a laugh out of it, he decides to just let you be because its the funniest thing he has ever heard.

No its a good post, and always funny to see what your average citizen thinks will help against police radar, some things raise an eyebrow, but most (like this) just require a hearty laugh at the lack of understanding and knowledge these people have.
Re: Humming Bird Fish finder = radar jammer? - Prob BS
Thing is I knew this was BS when he told me for many many reasons. But he was so adamant, even when I called BS, he just kept on going.
So, I sat on this for a few weeks, and though, Ahh, I'm here drinking coffee, what the hell, I'd post.
I have and old uniden 40Ch but a decent antenna. so it seems to work well. When I stopped to grab dinner in this place, this trucker aka fish finder dude came over and we starting talking as he never saw an antenna on a little sports car. blah blah blah.. then he said, you know what you need? a Hummingbird fish finder!!!!
I do recall laughing in his face. But like I said he was so adamant, it did make me go hmmm.

I used to use one of those on my amphibious vehicle to keep the mudsharks from riding my arse When I drove thru town it always warned me when there was a school of tuna off the port bumper and also helped me in those deep puddles
