Did my laser veil work today or was I just lucky?

I was rolling South on I 35 E (TX) and while passsing through a town at about 19mph over my 9500 IX went nuts (laser! laser!!) at the same instant I noticed the Sherriif at about 1:00 OClock in a parking lot beside the access road. I braked hard, but no pursuit. I have a clear laser veil plate cover, plate angled about 25 deg, thats about it. White Scooby WRX (5 door) and my speed lovin boss in the car- what most likely happened? The 9500 is only a ticket notifying device at that point isnt it? 35o mile trip that day, 4 KA ambushes thwarted as well. Now I have a CB.

It's hard to tell, I've seen people hit at over 20 above the PSL in a construction zone and no pursuit. Could have been a save could have been LEO was looking for the big one. Either way you got out unscathed.

haha thats a VEIL save. 19 over PSL in Texas is USUALLY a ticket

Never say always. The locals give 20 on the highway right behind my house. Heck, they give 20 on the access road even.

If you're talking I-35E in Ellis or Denton County, I'm not surprised at them giving you 20 over. But if you're talking Dallas County, I am very surprised you didn't get a ticket, and tend to think you either got strong scatter, or that your speedo is off. And, of course, if he was that far off the road, the angle may have given you a five MPH break too.

Seems the dfw area LEO's have really stepped up the revenue collection. I was tkt free for over 8 yrs and then the economy took a hit , now they are everywhere and have tagged me 2x in the last 8 mo.

It's just no way to know. You never really know it's a save unless they pop the guy behind you when you slow down and he passes.

All you know and all that is really important is he did not ticket you.

Sometimes leos just want to look cute and pretend like their doing their job they don't want to ticket everyone going 10 or 15 mph they would have alot of work to do more than like like SS said cosine error saved you and ou probably slowed down enough.
