I was driving my F250 tonight and thinking I needed to wash it before an upcoming Thanksgiving road trip. This vehicle, unlike my others, is one which I don't care about looks. Its meant to haul, tow, etc. and its constantly covered in a dust/dirt coating. My F150 is the one which remains spotless and never sees rain (1 of about 400 of this particular model made over 5 years).
It occurred to me that since I don't care how the F250 looks, maybe the thing to do is not wash it before a road trip. I might even take it through the mud and give it an all over DYI Veil job. I can't see LIDAR easily reflecting off of it in that condition (no front tag either), if at all! Georgia clay is about as close to a "flat" non-reflective surface as you can get....

I like your idea but the f250 is so big though that a skilled lidar shooter get a PT off the huge surface. I think a small, dark colored, dirty car would work great. Maybe that is the reason happya$$' setup does so well against laser
