What kind of safety warning alerts does a RD send out to you?

"Be careful, Train approaching"! not very helpful when your in a parking lot at a Texaco . that was only with the old cobra, there not helpful at all. i remember a cop passing me with his lights and SWS system on and it wasnt till he was right up next to me that it went "Be careful, Emergency Vehicle Approaching", i suppose if i was BLIND it mightve helped lol.

LMFAO , I was just about to ask this question about the so called alerts. They have been out for years and have never seen them used. They false almost as much as X band.

Over here in massachusetts they are used widely. All ambulances and construction zones give off SWS signals. My friend has a cobra and it works very well. Cobra suck for everything else so I would never get one. I wish I had it in my 8500 X50 but it just gives off a K band reading. :/

Maybe I should buy a cheap cobra and shut off all the bands except K/SWS. lol

The range is pretty good..same as any other K band radar gun I guess. It all depends on how good your detector is.

My escort starts displaying a K band reading far before I can even see the construction zones up ahead on the interstates here in mass.
