    Default just so i understand. the front plate helps with laser due to the reflective paint

    or is it because its metal?

    The plate helps a laser gun operator because it is retroreflective. It directs the laser gun beam back to the gun without scattering the beam.

    gotcha so metal or wood plate is all the same its the paint that matters

    to the source.

    so once the reflective material is gone a clear gloss coat vs a satin finish clear coat will do the same job correct

    I would think a satin finish would reflect less specularly , less
    mirror-like , the ray ....so less reflective .

    If plate covers are not illegal in your state order a laser shield from radarbusters.com. It will help scatter the laser and make your plate less reflective.
