x2, and in California, Cr8APL8s are NOT noticeable, COVERS ARE. In Texas it's the exact opposite, the cr8apl8s for TEXAS SUCK. Clear Covers however are legal in TX.

So what exactly would be the penalty for running a laser shield on your front plate in CA?

Maybe it's just better to take off my front plate, and replace it inside my windshield?

I've been considering an older model LI, so maybe all this would be unnecessary after all.
I do know how deadly front plates are, so anything that would help is certainly welcome.

Windshield = clear covering, and thus still illegal.

Edit: Again, I'd rather run a cr8apl8 in calif. then a clear cover.

I like no 2 - it helps me to justify my family car, instead of the M5 that i wish i could afford.

mind you I drive with headlights on in the day time for safety - hope that doesnt break rule no 2.

No. You're better off just putting a competent jammer on your car and quit worrying about your plate altogether, because it is not a factor.

Didn't you say in your FAQ that the plate was the deadliest item on the front of your car? I have a very flat plate in regard to the road, so thats why im somewhat concerned. I guess i wouldn't have to worry much with the LI tho.

Yes, I did. However, I suppose that can be misleading if taken out of context.

With a competent jammer, a plate doesn't matter. But without a competent jammer, it's the most deadly object on the front of your car. Regardless, without a competent jammer, your whole car is deadly, so it's sort of irrelevant.

Oh, ok that makes more sense. I understand now.
No real need for the shield if i get a decent jammer.
It sounds like more pain than what its worth.

Yeah, it really is. I mean, it's never a bad idea to add layers of defence to your jammer, just for extra security. It makes the job easier for your jammer. But if those extra layers are obvious -- as almost all plate measures are -- then it's counterproductive, as it puts you at more risk than the exposed plate would have.

Bottom line, no matter how much passive security you add, it will NEVER take the place of a jammer. Not even for a moment. So they should never be instituted until after your jammer has been optimised and tested, and never before.
