Right now, I need to make a decision about which verizon phone to get...the cheap model or Android.
Android would connect me with trapster. I put on 36000 miles a year across ohio and western pa in sales.
Now that said, I have some questions about the effectiveness of trapster:
1. police (or really just plain anybody) foiling this system by creating speedtraps 'everywhere' to slow down drivers. Whats to stop them from doing this ?
2. Time stamps on the alert. Is there a time stamp next to the alert that tells me how long ago a traffic patrol was sitting there? police dont stay stopped somewhere for very long. they either get a customer, or move on.
3. mobile 'moving radar' patrols...will there be a future update to help us track those? Sure they can turn off somewhere, but it still may be useful to indicate a patrol is heading N on say... I-71. Some distance/time calculations could track its trajectory....
4. Finally....Lets say this is a big success. What is to stop the highway systems from becoming complete carnage as semi-trucks, SUV drivers, etc. ramp up speeds, pass on right, and overall just drive like complete crap. I envision using this for an occasional spirited sprint on a deserted road in my corvette.
Not a regular system to allow me to do 90+ weaving in and out of traffic..
Those are my big questions about the system. Other than that, Id like to be a user/contributor.
