Yesterday afternoon on I95 Northbound 5 miles south of the Daytona Beach exit, I recieved an "Advisory" on my Zaon MRX. About 1/2 miles later I saw a car pulled over in the Southbound lanes. At about that time, the Zaon went from "Advisory" to "Alert". I estimate another 1/2 miles before I would have been in range of the aircraft for sighting purposes. I also observed the white lines on the road about this time but I'm not sure now whether it was the starting or ending point. Regardless, I had more than enough warning. I was using the factory default settings in "ground" mode.
The aircraft was flying at 500 feet which surprised me since I expected 1000. Based on my experience yesterday as well as experimenting near the airport, I can conclude that this device is an effective counter-measure for arial VASCAR.
