    Default Laser Shield

    Roy,

Does this Laser Shield cover plate even work? How much does it reduce your car from being lasered (1000', 500' ,etc) assuming the police officer is aiming at your plate? I know that speedzones have said during their review of the laser veil that they have tried cover plates in the past and they were all hoaxes.

    Default Laser Shield

The Laser Shield will reduce your target range around 45% on the plate. Only problem, if they don't get a hit on your plate, they simply move over and target your headlamp. The Veil is a better product overall, but the covre is much cheaper

    Default Something else to remember

Something else I should point out to y'all.

Using a plate cover in and of itself is pretty useless, IMHO.

Reason. Anything over 500 feet in distance the laser beam begins striking other reflective surfaces like headlights and fog lights and parking lamps.

Once these are illuminated having a plate cover by itself won't protect you.

If most speed traps are set up at 1000+ feet, well...you get the idea...

Use Veil and eliminate ALL sources of reflection.

A pilot once told me: If you ain't cheaten you ain't tryin'.

Default One addition point about VEIL - cost per vehicle is < $20

When you realize that VEIL provides its user with either five treatments or treatments for five cars or so then the price of its use is less than $20 per vehicle.

When you think in those terms, VEIL is price competitive with other "passive" products and I assure you, you get more than your money's worth.

    Default Laser Shield with VEIL

Has anyone had any experience with pairing Laser Shield with VEIL treatment on lights, etc.

If the cover does its job at reducing plate laser reflectively, then perhaps the two together would do well together. :?:

Default Cost is a relative thing...

    RadarRoy,

With respect to the cost difference - when you consider Veil gives you about five to six treatments or will treat five to six vehicles, Veil is actually cheaper to use at about $15 per vehicle/treatment.

I agree the plate is useless by itself, that's why I use it with Veil. I need to try Veil's new product when mine runs out, from what I hear it's not as dark.

    Default laser jammer

I was lasered at night before I had the Blinder m20 and that got me a $250+ ticket real fast! Infact, when the escort X50 went off I was like "s***!" and already started signaling to the right because I was allegedly going 18 MPH over the limit according to the police officer.

Luckily in Seattle we have good traffic attorneys :-)
