    Default Testing Simple Lidar Detector

Can someone answer my logic about Lidar detection ?

Since lidar use near infrared @ 904nm.

Since my tv remote control activates my V-1.

Since the infrared beam from the toy gun activates my V-1.

Can a laser tag toy detects the police lidar ?

This toy is sold at Radio Shack under the name '' laser tag ''.

The kit contains 2 guns and 2 captors .

Could this simple toy be use as a lidar detector ?

I know that lidar gun shoots a modulated light beam but

a burst of infrared is still infrared modulated or not for the '' toy captor ''

Right or wrong , it is quite difficult to test because I have no

    friends in the police...

Anyway I hope my question is clear enough , english is not

    my mother tongue.

    Thanks.

    Interesting location!

I haven't seen LIDAR used in Quebec yet, and the Highway Safety Code says nothing about it - so a lidar jammer is completely legal to have... so why bother?

    411radarlover,

    bienvenue, mon ami.

    @ Veil Guy,

merci beaucoup , ton francais est excellent.

Tu peux discuter ici : http://forum.autonet.ca/cgi-bin/view.pl

But at this forum is only french , good place to practice , I post

    there often under Toby.

For my friend Saabr , well lidar is widely used in Montreal area.

SQ still prefer radar but I have seen many yet. The law does specify

what tool you can not use , but say '' anything that impedes the

proper working of any speed measuring device ''.The police have

still to stop you if they suspect something wrong with your car.

They are knowledgeable, they surf internet,,,

Now if they stop you they ALL the powers to search, dismantle your

car , bring you to court. For the law the cost is nothing but for the

    defendant ,,heu,,,it hurts.

OK , if you have time and $ you can fight back...

Majority of us must use secrecy and never confront the other side

    in a face to face.

I would prefer use Veil but not a blinder unlesss you have a way to

be 100% sure they cannot use it against me. Unless you can

    sell me a self-destructible blinder .

I will buy a blinder disguised as a true cell phone anytime...who makes

    this gadget ?

By the way I would buy anytime a radar detector disguised as a cell

    phone,,,,,,never saw that anywhere,,,

    SeeUSoon a la prochaine

    Code de la sécurité routière

    Détecteur de radar.

    1986, c. 91, a. 251; 1988, c. 68, a. 11.

    Interdiction.

    1986, c. 91, a. 252; 1988, c. 68, a. 12; 1990, c. 19, a. 11.

    Interprétation.

    1986, c. 91, a. 253.

Default When there is a will

    Saabr,

you are right , the Quebec law does not speak about lidar

blinder but it is included in general as '' nuire au bon fonctionnement ''.

I know that they have to proove it , but they sometimes act aside

the law , they do not care your rights .

If the cop have time and he has been shooting all day and suddenly

he cannot get you ,,,,,hum he calls his partner and here goes

the merry-go-round.As much we like this subject as much some

are fanatic about catching ''cheaters'' as they say.

They know about all the tricks , hopefully most are not fanatic.

SQ now do not enforce any radar/lidar , they make pressure to the

government to have a new working contract , but watch after they

sign it , they will be like dogs after the bone,,

    After all I am not a big speeder , roughly 15 @ 25 % above posted ,

it is just I do not like to be treated as a child = do / dont , father

    knows best ,,,, you see.

I use now a V-1 and Sensoro , hot wired , ready to throw by the window.

Yeah, I have the Sensoro, plus I have a remote switch so when I see the police I turn it off.

The thing about Blinder that is nice is you can turn it off easily. When the gun is aimed at the car, it normally takes a short time to catch the speed. With the blinder, you blind the gun for an extra 1 second or 2 seconds as you slow down, then turn off, the gun gets a speed that is normal (ie 110km/h not 160) and everyone is happy - hopefully.

They are on the Internet?!! Euh, can I change my name to SmaartAasHonda because I drive a red... Civic - yeah a Civic

I finally got my question answered : no ,

the laser tag toy is not

set off by a police laser .

I assume it is because of the Pulse Repetion Rate which is quite

different than the real speed laser use.

Osprey gave me the final word .

see you all folks @ El Paso
