Newbie with probably an old question

i just joined this board after seeing 3 photo radar units in my Town (notice i didnt say city) Does a normal detector pick up photo radar? I used to always run a high end Bel, then an escort so i'm kinda up on whats new in the detector world but don't use one much lately. Any ideas? Oh yeh i'm in Canada. Thanks!

Yes it will, not terribly well however. If it's in your town should have no problem. Still got the oldies? Pull 'em out and see how they perform. There should be a better unit coming out this summer that may interest you.

Where in the Great White North btw? Alberta?

Only place I've ever actually seen the photoradar boxes... Mind you, we in QC had them first before anyone, in the early 1970's. Everyone was REALLY mad, the goverment was kicked out of power, and everyone burned the damn things!

lol, on the radio today they were talking about the newest photoradar "garbage cans" one guy phoned in and said if he see's it he's going to run it over in his truck. People are quite upset the way it is being hidden so well.

Ah Canada........what our Politicians will do for our safety :wink: ....hiding Photo Radar in garbage cans :shock: .......makes me proud to pay my taxes...... :P
all of this for public saftey of course and educating the motoring public... :wink:

When we first got photoradar it was to be used in school zones and playground zones only. Hmmm that lasted 2 months now its in 3 places during the day, nowhere near the school/playground zones. "it's not a cash cow" said our mayor... yeah right.
