new look camara here
I was hit by a manned laser camera a couple of weeks ago. It was square in the front (about 200mm x 200mm sqaure in the front) with 4 clear lenses on the front. It has 2 on the top row and 2 on the bottow row, ie above each other. Any idea what camera this is? I got no sound at all from the M40, and a fine in the post 2 weeks later. In the last 9 months I have jammed over 40 traps with the M40 and this is the 1st time I have had no singnal at all. (At the time I only had 3 sensors on the front as I was busy moving 1 to the back and did not have one of the front ones centered, so that may have affected things.
see if you can get a pic.
check out this thread for some camera pics, and the links to see more.
The Blinder is pretty good at detecting laser. could it have been a radar trap or maybe strips in the roadway?
if not, check your blinders. test them if you can to make sure they are working.
thanks for that link, very interesting.
It was not any of those though. It was a manned laser gun, with camera built in, shooting from the front. All I can imagine is that as I was halfway thru the project of moving my one front sensor to the middle of the plate, it was too far on the left and the Leo got lucky and avoided all 3 heads on the front. Now that I have redone the front ones, I will hunt down that camera again and see if I can jam it. Will try get a pic.
could be some type of stalker lz1.
problem is a few year ago only a few guns were about now every manufacturer is making speed trap stuff.
truvelo have started to make laser traps which can be placed unmanned like a gatso on bridges and gantrys.. and at junctions..
there are quite a few fixed laser traps..
its impossible to know whats out there theses days...
When you say manned camera can you describe it more?
Was it mounted on a tripod or handheld? If you're in SA was it a bridge attack? (make sure you've got rear jammers as well in SA - speak to Laserguys)
What your describing sounds like an LTI 2020 with a LASERCAM NT video camera stuck on to the side - that would give the two rows of two lenses you mentioned. Blinder should cope fine with that gun.
It was mounted on a tripod, with the leo sitting behind it in the bush.
I never got a sound from the blinder jammers on the front.
However at the time I only had 3 heads on the front and 1 on the rear. Following a chat to Leon today, I am gonna move the one from back back to it's original placing on the front. With 4 on the front I had no fines thru over 40 traps. They say 1 head on the rear of my truck is useless.....
pop mode laser...dang these police are clever
