I just recieved a red light ticket for a local intersection which uses the photo radar. It was one of those cases of just barely misjudging the timing - the light was red for less than 1/4 of a second when I entered the intersection, and I was going 5 mph under the 40 mph speed limit. Clearly, if I hadn't slowed out of uncertainty, I would have made it through the intersection with no problem.
I'm not sure what to do now - I am fairly certain that no cop would have pulled me over for this tiny misjudgement, or, at least, would have only given a warning. I don't want this to affect my insurance rates when it was such a tiny slip-up. Should I argue this in court?
There is one other wrinkle - the ticket was sent to my mother, but I was the driver of the car. How should I go about fixing this?
Thanks for your input.
