Default Going too slow got me a ticket- redlight camera

Ok so 50 bucks and no point but I swear it was not my fault!
Yeah whatever who would believe me.

Wife and I pulled out of a gas station on the corner where there was a red light camera. We knew it was there and were not in a hurry. Looked to the left, no cars, turned to the right looked up saw a Green light.
I was going pretty slow so her mountain dew would not spill all over the car 15 then to 20 ooops too slow, light went yellow and then red very quickly.

Got the photo of my car in the intersection showing my speed of 25 mph on a 45 mph zone.

To reiterate, we pulled out from a gas station that was at this intersection, 40 to 50 ft from the the stop line and we both saw it was GREEN when we pulled out.

Supposed if I throttled it a bit more or looked an instant later we would have been okay.

With all of the ridiculous redlights here, I now literally SLAM on my brakes to avoid gambling with the infamous yellow light. Hope the guy behind me aint following closely.

Fight the ticket. The light should stay yellow long enough for you to get through the intersection if you saw it was green when you were 50 feet away.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

For what it's worth, bro, I believe you.

    Sorry for the bad luck.

I'm also a very non-aggressive driver - you'll never find me running a red unless my life depended on it (heck, you'll rarely even find me running a yellow unless someone's absolutely glued to my tail), and yes, I hate red-light cameras on-principle.

Hope you win the fight against the ticket.

    Default Called them up

This was quite some time ago so too late to go back on it.

But I had called them up and spoke with a rep from the Red-light camera company about it. He said that the yellow light should be 3-4 seconds and if not to call him back to advise. I timed the yellow and was in fact 4 seconds, not sure why it nipped me and most likely was my fault for accelerating too slowly.

He admitted as well that if I contested it and since I have a spotless driving record odds were in my favor.
Because there were no points and does not go on my record as well as the money going to the schools I decided not to take the time off work to try and fight it. But merely call it a donation to the town.

If I can dig it out I will scan it and post it here, kind of interesting technology but feel that computers should not control our fate. After all if they are so perfect, why do they sometimes require a reboot?

Indeed, I often feel that way, too.

But even my beloved car is simply infested with on-board "computers" that control nearly every aspect of its being. Now that's scary....
