Well, I just found out I am going to Washington D.C. for a semester. While this is very good news , I also realize that I am going to have to purchase some countermeasures against all the red light / speed camera bull----.
Option 1: VF2 photo jammer
Option 2: Navalert
Option 3: GPS unit with red light locations, etc?
I'm thinking the VF2 would be good since sometimes the police use cars or vans with speed cameras that would not be in a database. But what if an officer is in the van when my plate is photographed?? It would suck to get pulled over for that, especially if I was going home from dinner after have one glass of wine (apparently the "DUI" limit is .02 in washington DC now... MADD sure paid off somebody...).
Navalert looks like a good option. I didn't really consider the passport 9500i cause radar detectors are illegal in DC, and for the GPS on that thing to work I would have to place it on my dash.
Does anybody know of a GPS unit that also has support for a red light / speed camera database? This might be a good option cause I'd like a GPS unit for directions anyway.
Any thoughts or advise from people living in D.C. or with VF2/GPS experience?
