Default What you should know about automated photo enforcement.

It is my belief that every citizen [U.S. or otherwise] should read and understand the following article. (Warning: it is heavy reading)

I have to wonder, how is it that America has a representative government and it's STILL become abusive towards the citizens, just like a communist dictatorship?

    JDS,

Yes, this is a fascinating phenomenon.

[Because] there is (an ultimate and seemingly opposing) convergence of either "fascist"-like or "socialist"-like systems towards the same end [replacer_a].

it is noteworthy that these systems are already designed to be able to automatically conduct OCR license plate recognition--which could be used to surreptitiously track the movements of people in their vehicles.

How's that for a 'safety' initiative?

This is merely the tip of a BIG iceberg, I am afraid.

Perhaps it is time to consider turning off the cell phones, the onstar systems, the satellite radios, the GPS nav systems, the ez-pass systems, etc. no?

    holein1,

I am afraid, my friend, it's already been in the works, to wit:

It's unfortunate that Miami Police Chief John Timoney--who was a 'Philly boy'-- has had such a change of heart.

    He needs [replacer_a].
