So, this past Saturday I finally found Tucson' photoradar van. it is a Chevy Venture minivan with a pathetic vynil 'Tucson Police' sticker on it's side.
I drove past this thing three, or four times. it seems to be Ka band RADAR, and my Valentine1 give sufficient warningin both directions.
Now, here is my question. The photoradar was projected across three lines of road. Several times when I passed this van I had two LARGER SUV vehicles passing me on each side while I was in the center lane. Now, I know that the cross section of RADAR is quite wide, and that generally the doppler returned is the largest reflector in the field, so how does the camera know which lane of traffic to ticket?
If you can pass along any tech info on these photoradar vans, I would greatly appreciate it!
