Default IL- Melrose Park- Red Light Camera

I got a ticket in the mail showing me clearly stopped behind the white, and then 5 seconds later my rear bumper is at the white line. They want $100 for this.

    Timeline:
7:45:38 - My Spice Red Metallic 2006 Pontiac GTO appears in the camera’s range.
Traffic signal is Yellow, with car in front of me approaching the line
7:45:39 - Traffic signal turns Red, with car in front of just past the line
7:45:40 - I am decelerating with my right indicator light on
7:45:41 - I am stopped behind the line
7:45:42- I am stopped behind the line
7:45:43- I am stopped behind the line
7:45:44 - I start to make the right turn after verifying no other cars were coming
    7:45:45 - I continue southbound on 5th
7:45:46 - My rear bumper reaches the end of the line
    7:45:47 - I continue southbound on 5th
7:45:48 - My car is now out of range of the traffic camera, no violations committed.
7/18 I receive ticket from dbags

    THE REAL PROOF
We have a lovely video proving my innocents. The 1st GTO is my friend, and the 2nd one is me clearly stopping for roughly 3 secs.

There was no "No right turn on Red Signs"

Melrose park is such a scamming town. I should have never gone there in the first place, but couldn't resist a little Auto X. I'm fighting this and should win.

    Thumbs down

What are they, stupid or something?

This whole camera thing ought to work both ways, just like any other civil suit. Loser pays. If you have to take your time to go in and prove you were innocent, the queer-bait camera company ought to have to pay your expenses, and the court costs. I bet after getting a few of those bills, they'd start paying more attention to wtf they are doing.

That's the worst case I've ever seen. These tickets are supposed to be approved by an officer before they are sent out - no way that happened here.

It doesn't go on your licence in Georgia but it does in California and Arizona, but I can't remember about Illinois. I actually think it might in IL. It can certainly affect insurance premiums there. You need to get that ticket dealt with, and not ny paying it - you need to contact the hearing officer. details should be on the ticket.

In Arizona, all the new Freeway photo radar won't go onto your licence, but all the city photo radar and camera tickets still counts for points and traffic school (AFAIK.)

Got a letter today saying I was found "NOT LIABLE". Their wordiness still makes me pissed off at them, of coarse I'm not liable, nothing happen. The proper term should be I'm not guilty, but they can't print that or something? Or is that admitting they're wrong?

    Reb,

That was big of them to find you "not liable." I'd have expected an apology.
