I was satisfied with its navigation capabilites but very disappointed by its lack of POI, can't upload POI lists, and outdated maps.
Now I'm pretty much settled on Garmin. I don't need the high end ones that recognize speech.
However, I do want:
Less than $300 price tag
Plenty of POI
Capable of uploadable POI lists
updatable maps (Garmin and tom tom seem to be good on this while magellan sucks)
Any ideas guys? I'm currently thinking about these: Any good?
I just picked up a Garmin Nuvi 360 for under $300 included with overnight shipping from wally-mart. Bluetooth works good but if you don't need this feature just get the 350. The only down side is the speaker is a little hard to hear if you have a noisey interior.

Nuvi 350
I've got a Nuvi 350, and would have no problem buying another one tomorrow. It's thin enough to carry around in your inside coat pocket without any problem, and the battery lasts about 4 hours if you don't have it plugged into your car's power supply. One of the best things about it is that it acquires the satellites very, very quickly, unlike the Garmin C340 I have.

I've finally decided on the Garmin 760. The 600 series is getting outdated, and the 700 series has some great features. I'll be selling my 200W that I bought from Roy.

In your price range I would definitely get a Garmin Nuvi 2xx series GPS. Garmins route calculations are currently the best available and their units are like a Ronco product. "Set it and forget it". If you are willing to spend a little more the Tom Tom 73x and 93x are formidable units to the Garmin Nuvi 7xx and 8xx series units. The Tom Toms are much more configurable and unlike Garmins one update annually, you can either update every quarter or create or download updates from other users. I could go on and on with this topic, but I suggest you go to gpsforum.com and read gpspassion.com or gpsreview.net.
As far as purchasing, Sams Club and Costco are extremely hard to beat for prices and warranty.
I wouldn't buy another Magellan. I'm happy enough with mine and only tried to use their email tech support once. The email bounced and I hear you can't even reach them by phone.
Even a bad product can be good if they have good tech support, the best product in the world with bad tech support stay away from.
I'm loving my Nuvi 760 with MSN direct and external antenna. Only bad thing about it is that the mount is a little too lose so it moves around when I hit a bump.
