V1 3.851 testing maybe a J'ed KA from a LEO
Ok I just got my V1 (3.851) 3 days ago. I wanted to test the range and see how better it is than my Cobra XRS-777 (I didn’t know any better at the time I got it). I was driving and I had my V1 up on the visor clip I was going 70 in a 55 (And there was a big hill in front of me). And my V1 starts going off and 1 sec later a LEO had his lights on and was flying about 80 - 90 mph going the other way to pull someone over. I didn’t have enough time to slow down but he was going really fast. So I decided to do some test while he was giving a ticket. And I got .3 miles with the V1 (on visor clip) and .25 miles with the Cobra XRS-777(Cobra always on the windshield). There was a really big hill in the way. I only had 1 sec to slow down before I saw the LEO with the V1 and on the Cobra I didn’t have enough time at all to slow down. .05 miles before I saw the LEO with my V1. Well he was done with this person and started moving again with consent on KA. Well didn’t take him long to find some one else so I did another test. This time the V1 was on the windshield and there was another big hill in the way maybe bigger than the other one (But defiantly a better radar spot then the other one I think). My V1 got .7 miles and my cobra got .3 miles (he would have got me if I was speeding with the cobra no time to slow down again). I think when the V1 is on the visor clip it can’t detected over hills very well at all (I will never put my V1 on the visor clip ever again unless I am doing testing). Later the same day I was going to the movies and another LEO had someone pulled over but had is radar gun still going (probably the same LEO). I caught up to him and passed him. I got 1.1 miles KA to the back on the V1 (But there weren’t any really big hills like where I was earlier but there were hills). Then on up the road there was another one. And this was a little weird. When I got really close to him the V1 picked up a KA and then J'ed it out (was it the LEO?) (The LEO also had someone pulled over).
The V1 every thing default on A mode
The cobra XRS-777 was in highway mode with pop on.

V1 works better on the windshield for hills.

I dont know what kind of windshield you have, but try the v1 below where the cobra was, and do another test, with only 1 detector on to stop interference.
I am guessing the tint band that might be in front of the v1 is metallic and is greatly reducing range.
This is just a possibility though.
