honestly, you probably shouldnt buy it from someone like that. He knows what its worth and that is less than he wants to sell it for and he is seeing if he can sucker more money out of you by putting the ball in your court. Stinks like self cal and service required problems IMHO. Pony up and buy a new unit from someone who isnt lookng to screw you, you will be ahead of the game in the long run even if it costs a little more up front.
i don't see the calibrate/service soon to be a problem considering i can meet this person and check out the item before purchase. for how hot/long the unit has to run before this kind of problem starts.....i've read somewhere that escort does do repair on units bought second hand, but it's like around 60 bucks. is this true?
but i appreciate your opinion and just for fun, i'll just reply with the current bid. it isn't a committment anyway. he'll have to decide who to "screw", me or the current high bidder :)
Try to pay less than -edit-. The service is $75. Try to give it a test run with the guy, look if it has major scratches.Quote:

Good Luck,
got mine for $100
paid -edit- for mine from somebody in town mint condition
don't pay -edit- for a used one.
Recently some of the other admins began not allowing prices discussed of products radarbusters.com does not sell. Since radarbusters.com does not sell the Passport 8500 original, I have edited this thread. Thanks for understanding.
I apologize for removing the prices. An official decision on what prices we will allow discussed has not yet been made. I would put the prices back, but I don't remember what they were.
thanx for the advices
well, i didn't win the bid
but am in the process of obtaining a x50 from an authorized dealer for a good price........
but now, i have a another question, what's the forecast of resale value of this unit, 2 years down the road let's say..... i guess my question is related to how often escort ship out newer models or an update to their top model
looking at the ebay prices of both bel and escort models this past month, it does seem escort models have better resale values........
