question about hardwire
This has probably been asked before- but forgive me. I recently had my RX65 hardwired. I do plan on purchasing a v1 eventually just for the heck of it. Will be able to run the v1 off the RX65 hardwire without loosing any performance? Or is there something special about the v1 hardwire cable...
haha, i know this is a ridiculously dumb question but i had to ask :)

I' not sure if the x65 uses a rj11 connector(phone cord)
If it does than it'l work - else no you'll have to rewire.
-
yes, it uses a phone cord.

No, it won't work correctly, (no mute) you will get power but some of the four wires are run differently we just discussed this in a previous post.
I bet you would have to simply cut one end off and splice on a new connector the opposite way.

what do you mean no mute? i'm not using a smartcord; just a phone cord straight into the fusebox..

My 8500 works fine with a V1 hardwire kit, I cant imagine why it would effect the V1's mute since the mute is right there in the unit itself. Only one way to find out for sure.
-
basically you can not change the modes on the V1 and you cant mute the volume

If you read Arashi666 post he was saying that he was using an X50 hard wire on a V1 with problems.
You say that you are using an RX65 hard wire I would think that since the company is merged it is the same setup.
-
yeah...the x50 and rx65 use the same hardwire kit (and smartcord but i don't use that anymore).
hmm... so the mute button on the v1 itself won't work?? weird!

One of the leads is a dedicated mute line looking for its remote display unit.
