St. Charles police alert for speeders
The St. Charles Police Department beginning Monday will conduct a four-week enforcement period with the help of an Illinois Department of Transportation speed enforcement grant.
Off-duty officers will be hired back to watch for speeders in the construction zones of Randall Road and West Main Street; the 100-1600 block of East Main Street; the 1700-2500 block of West Main Street; and the 0-400 Block of North Second Street.
During the previous enforcement period, St. Charles Officers issued 169 speeding citations, one seat belt citation and one other moving violation and arrested two people for driver's license violations.
