Talked to VR about new 9500i.
I just got off the phone with VR and asked if they were going to be coming out with any new RD in response to the recent release to the Escort 9500i? They said that they do not have anything coming out in the near future but have some things in the works and are always looking for new improvements.
They admitted that they have a 9500i in their possession and have tested it extensively. They concluded that it does have the exact range of the old 8500 x50. They also compared the current V1 3.858 to the new 9500i and the V1 has the 9500i beat in radar/laser detection range and sensitivity :!:
Thats all he said.

No surprise there. The only apparent advantage the 9500i offers over the V1 is the GPS features (lockouts, mark locations, speedometer readout, speed adj sensitivity etc.). If these things don't appeal to you then the V1 is the only way to go. UNLESS Escort enables the USB port for flash updates. This would be very nice!

If this is true, that is very disappointing. Wouldn't surprise me if it is true because the 9500i has the same specs for radar receiver type as the X50.
