how much over the limit do you drive on the interstate?
It really depends on the conditions. I know my limits of me and my car and if it doesn't feel safe, I'll even do 5 under.
If it's at night, with almost no traffic, I'll do 80-90 on the interstate. Ironic thing is, at nighttime, when there is less of a chance of having an accident with someone, there is more of a chance of being caught speed.
Just because we have a radar detector doesn't mean we are all reckless drivers, speeding down the road with blatant disregard for the other drivers on the road ;)
5 to 15 over. It depends on weather, traffic, and rabbit availability.
That's not what the LEOs think.Quote:

On my way to work I would do 20 over, but normal traffic goes 10 to 15 over, so I dont stick out that much. Plus there is almost always a rabbit going 30 or more over.
If I am just driving around I tend to stick to 5 to 10 over, rarely will I go 20 over when Im just crusing.
really depends.. if i'm TRYING to obey the PSL i'm usually 5 over.. so most of the time 10-15.. if i'm in a rush 20-25 .. i'm not sure why but i've gone over 30+ a couple of times. Usually when i'm chasing a good lookin' car
Depends.
Like brother ELVATO, if I see that conditions require such action, yes, I'll even drive under the PSL (i.e. extremely bad visibility or road-conditions, etc.).
For construction zones, I've always slowed to-PSL or 5+ if they're "active," but after advice from a fellow member here (in that there may be road-debris), I am now changing my habits so as to always obey such.
Also, I will slow/go to another lane when I see roadside activity.
Aside from such special situations:
I'm typically in the "under 10+" range when I'm actually traveling with passengers.
Without passengers, I'm typically "under 15+."
It depends. Usually anywhere from 80-110. Almost never less unless the RD is going off or it's raining hard. And sometimes more if there is no traffic.
Here in the uk i think it all depends on, if the laser camera van has been on the road in question, and or it's on their time table.
I know of many road locations / lay-bys which the van hides on, they seem to select different roads and park in random places.
Their here today gone tomorrow and reappear when you dont expect them, i'm supprised that since the introduction on the vans in 2003 i've not been caught out.
Last sunday the van was parked on a bend on a duel carrageway, i didnt have time to slow no warning it appeared out of nowhere
lucky i wasnt speeding but it's hard when your doing the limits and drivers start to get aggressive because your drivng slow, because the van appeared out of nowhere i banged the brakes on and i was doing 35mph in a 40mph zone but because of this panic braking i was unsure of my speed before banging the brakes on, i was on the left slow lane (uk) and there were cars all around me..
But i'm sure the v1 would have gave warning if they'd have been firing, but i was close to it aswell so maybe it might not have but i was just going with the flow of the traffic but it's scared the crap out of me, i didnt like the ambush attacks!...
It's the first time i've ever encounted the van and it was a supprise ambush, and i was even looking out for the van as i knew it was on this road, and with this in mind i'm pretty sure i'd have been doing no more than the limit.....
Usually around 15 over (80-ish), give or take a few depending on traffic, weather, my mood, visibility, rabbits, whether I'm passing someone or cruising, etc. I sometimes push it to 85-90 for brief bursts for passing or closing a gap, but I don't maintain those sorts of speeds for long.
I always slow down if I'm passing slower traffic, so I'm not blowing by anyone like they're standing still. That way I'm not as obvious to a LEO, and it isn't speed that kills, it's speed differential.
