Speed limit in Kentucky will be 70 mph!
Nice to see the speed limit changing in parts of Kentucky from 65mph to 70mph.
(03/07) Kentucky's governor, Ernie Fletcher, signed a bill Wednesday that would increase the speeds on certain parts of the interstate to 70 mph. Fletcher says the Transportation Cabinet has looked at other states that have raised their speed limits to 70 mph and found no adverse effects when it comes to safety.
(03/07) A bill clearing the way to raise Kentucky's speed limit to 70 mph on major highways has been sent to Governor Fletcher. The measure would allow the speed limit on rural interstate highways and parkways to be raised from the current 65 mph. Before taking effect, the higher speed limit would need approval from the state transportation secretary following an engineering study looking at safety factors.
