The Effingham County Sheriff's Office will conduct road checks and will have additional deputies on the road until June 3 for Georgia's annual Click it or Ticket campaign and the Memorial Day weekend.
Deputies will conduct concentrated patrols in high-traffic areas on Effingham County roadways, according to a sheriff's office news release.
Deputies also will be looking for seatbelt violations, aggressive driving, driving while under the influence, speeding and other traffic violations.
The month of May also marks the start of the 100 days of summer HEAT.
The Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic campaign is designed to safeguard the lives of motorists during the major summer travel period from the Memorial Day to Fourth of July holidays.
