I was just chilling at home and the UPS guy knocked at my door with a little box from the UK, and inside it was a exciting peice of electronics, yep a Cheetah GPS mirror with stealth node remote control power switch and it was like xmas...man I was excited as you all know i love my gadgets ;) Soinstalled in the new nitro and it fits perfect.

So whats the cheetah GPS mirror you say, its a rear view mirror packed with electronics incl a display, SiRf III chipset GPS unit, wireless connectivity to most popular radar detectors using the interface, speakers and a anti glare coated rear view mirror! So I hooked it up and mounted it on my exisitng mirror , plugged in the GPS antenna that fits snug onto the front window behind the mirror turned on the power and a plesent english voice tells me the GPS is ready.
It will alert to all speed and red light cameras as well as intersection blackspots with a nice and clear vice and beep, once cleared of the cameras view it will chime to let you know you are clear of the camera, this feature is worth its weight in gold alone!! no more horrible boxes on the dash ot things stuck to the window to alert you...now it is all in this 1 mirror!!
So I go for a drive and it is showing my speed on the display without interfering with my rear view, I am yet to load in the Australian database as it is a few weeks off being finished but the great thing about this mirror is it can be updated by the user, all you need to do is download the latest update from the cheetah website and then upload it to the mirror and your all set.
The mirror also came with the radar detector and LPP interface which plugs into the most commomn radar detectors and diffusers like the Beltronics, Escort and Valentine 1 and LPP that I have wirelessly installed to the mirror.

As i am in a state that allows the use of detectors this option is use at your own risk for the eastern states...but be warned...Spectre/Stalcar RDD is used in those states and they will sniff you out if you are using a detector. The interface connects to the mirror wirelessly and alows all alerts to be via the mirror, you can even set the mirror up to mute all alerts if you are going under 20km/h, this is a great feature if you are at the lights or in traffic. There is other options that hook into the mirror so it is a great all in 1 alert center!
The other great feature is the wide angle of the mirrors view into the back seat, this is perfect if you have kids in the back, it allows you to keep a sharp eye on them. The features of this mirror never end!!
I reccomend this GPS mirror to ALL drivers as it is a dicreat way to be alerted to redlight, speed cameras and intersection blackspots.
A BIG thankyou to Ally at speedcheetah and Andy and Kris at kmph UK for the mirror for evaluation, keep an eye out in Australia as the mirror will be available soon!! I beleive it is avail in the USA now
The mirror is available in USA as I speak.

SiRF star III put to very good use!
The GPSmirror uses the latest SiRF star III chipset so you know it's going to be reliable, even in tricky urban canyon conditions where other systems may falter. There is a useful driving compass display with an audio heading announcement feature. "Rescue Me" coordinates can be heard at the touch of a button. There's even a handy clock display option.
"Fit and forget" technology – hassle free
These days, leaving an auto accessory on display inside your car is often asking for trouble. Other systems normally have to be hidden from sight or removed every time you leave the vehicle to avoid attracting the attention of thieves. Cheetah's elegant design leaves your dashboard and windscreen clutter free and its discreet nature makes it almost unnoticeable from outside the vehicle, so many customers feel comfortable about leaving their mirror in place when they park.
Covers all types of safety cameras
Your GPSmirror's memory can store up to 120,000 locations, it contains the GPS co-ordinates of the dangerous intersections and roads with accident histories where red-light or speed cameras are used.
It alerts you to all types of fixed speed cameras, red light cameras and average speed cameras (GATSO, Truvelo, SPECS, Traffiphot, Redspeed, Redflex, ACS, ATS, Nestor, etc…) as well as other known accident blackspots and common mobile speed trap sites, The warnings for common mobile sites can be turned off and you can even store your own personal warning locations.
Helps you to become more aware of your speed
The GPS speedo accurately displays your speed from behind the mirror glass. Advisory speed limits when you are approaching a camera to let you easily compare your own speed to the posted speed limit at that location. There is also a useful overspeed reminder which reminds you whenever you drive faster than your chosen setting.
Helps eliminate blind spots and improve night vision
One of the first things you notice about this product is the size. It's slightly larger than most factory mirrors, partially for cosmetic reasons to cover your original mirror, but mostly for safety reasons. It's a wide angle mirror which greatly increases your rear vision and helps eliminate blind spots on many cars. 93% of customers prefer our specialised anti-glare coating to their original automatic dimming mirror, reporting better night vision while not being dazzled.
Works at home or abroad and it's completely legal
The on-board Trinity database covers the USA and UK. Canada, Spain, France, Portugal, Scandinavia, the rest of Europe and Australia are actively being logged and will be available later in 2007. There are no ongoing costs, subscription charges or download fees. Camera updates are done through the internet and your PC using a USB and a serial port.
Easy to use and easy to swap between cars
The spring-loaded adjustable clips make it easy to fit over 99% of factory mirrors on the market. The power cord can be hardwired or simply plugged in to your car's cigar lighter socket. If you want to swap your GPSmirror between two vehicles we recommend you purchase an extra power lead to fit in the second vehicle. This makes it easy to swap over in seconds.
