Cold I wouldn't expect much, since your car interior rarely gets really cold in most weather situations. Heat can definately damage the unit however. It seems that radar detectors are not constructed to the same level as automotive interior components like dashboards and radios. Why? I dunno.
thanks smaartaassaabr iwill take it down its a lot of money for it to replaceQuote:

i would have thought heat does damage.. my snoopers never give me any trouble and thats got really hot sometimes!
then again its technicly simple unlike v1s with program modes etc!
For general operation, you really don't have to worry about the v1 getting that hot (unless your driving around in July with your heat on), but if your leaving your car for any length of time, I can easily see how a car can get that hot, especially in hot weather like this...Quote:

I never leave my RD on the dash in the hot sun!
I live in texas were it gets very hot! Sometimes when im driving
i turn my defrost on just to let cold air from my ac blow around my detector. That may sound weird but hey its really hot here were i live!!!
Well, I think that it may cause some damage if you leave your detector on the dashboard/windshield.
It may break the glass or pry door open and escape...
That's why I never leave anything on a visible place in my car. Most of movable things can't stand high or low temperatures alone.
how about between the roof? , yeah between the roof you read correctly
sit in you car and look up, I unscrewed the roof and put it my detector there and put back the"roof" but sometime it get exetremely hot, as my car is very dark, actualy I just tryed that today and I went to a Near K-Band sign and the result where just amazing, I want to keep it there, but im a bit scared of the extreme heat, I guess winter is ok( but who speed in winther season :( )
You got any pics of this? sounds to be a great way to hide it :DQuote:
