Does the rear antenna pick up alerts at about the same distance the front antenna does? I have noticed this a few times but would like to confirm.

The rear antenna has a bit less range than the front, but I believe the biggest difference is on X-Band.
Thank you for the confirmation.
There are various factors that would make the rear detect further than the front antenna, just depends whats reflecting off of what.
My rear antenna always has been better at detecting then my front, so in theory the front should have better detection... however, not all units do. With that said, I have had many (other) issues with my V1, so its probably safe to assume that the front should be a bit more senitive.
*(Someone did do a sensitivity test, I believe M.B. the Whistler company rep. on here did one, and did the front and rear antennas of the V1 I think.) Either way it was a great test. *

Alot of people say this , I also used to get the same distance plus about a quarter better rear detection than front on my 3812...Quote:

The rear antenna on the V1 is more sensitive than most other RD's front antenna.
