Plan on buying a new ride in a year or so...suggestions?
Here are my choices: (I'm looking for solid performance as well as comfort)
- Honda Accord EX-v6
- VW GLI
- BMW 335 XI
-Audi A4
I'm leaning more toward the Accord Ex V6 for the following factors:
raw amount of power for the price: (under 30k) (268 Horses!!!)
-with a couple of relatively inexpensive mods i can up the horsepower and gain some torque
-solid build quality
-i think i can get the most out of this vehicle especially for the price...
welcome to any and all suggestions and opinions...

As others have said, this would only be a good choice if you're going to be satisfied with the car as-is. Modifying a naturally aspirated Honda really isn't worth it in your situation.

Comfort yes, solid performance, no. MkII 2.0 16v GLIs are slow. MkIV 24v VR6 GLIs sound nice, but really aren't performers. MkIV 1.8T GLIs (like mine) are only slightly sportier, although they require a reflash to utilize much of their power. MkV GLIs have an excellent engine (even more severely detuned though, so again budget $500 for a reflash), but they are heavy ugly FWD whale cars. Here's my VWVortex signature:

If you can afford it, you'd be a dumbass not to jump on it. This is really the perfect car for your situation. It has the best engine of the bunch, in fact one of my favorite engines ever, it is actually FASTER than the RWD version, and it looks great. It will run through the twisties better than anything in this list, it will even put the quattro A4 to shame.

Maybe not as kickass as the 335Xi, but you still can't go wrong with this one, particularly assuming you get the quattro version.
