New V1 owner - rev.3.813 questions
I purchased a V1 with a broken car adapter for $200. I was able to rig it up and get it to work and was pleased to find out it was a rev 3.813 (from all the buzz I've read here). I had a chance to use it Friday while going out of town and it was pretty "chatty" in Austin. Once I hit the hwy it was ok, all this while it was in "L" mode. After doing some research I also found out that all the settings were at default. So, I went ahead and turned off X-band and changed option #5 to more responsive (arrow down). If I read correctly, these settings can only be used while in little L mode and big L mode, and if in "A" mode then all the bands detection are turned on, correct?
What do you guys think of my current settings? TX doesn't seem to use X band and I don't think I should be running in A mode. Big L or little L mode for HWY and city?
I ordered a new car adapter and think I might have to send it in for a tune up since the guy told me it was out of commish for about 1yr. I had also compared it with my Pro78 running together (yes I know its a no no). Tell you what, I got the sh*t scared out of me twice ! They went off at the same time, 2 saves baby! If the NFL can give credit for .5 sacks then I will give both RDs half point credit for the saves. I talk about the comparisons at a different time.
So let me know if you guys have any advice or suggestions for me. Thanks!

Re: New V1 owner - rev.3.813 questions
If you are getting a lot of K-Band falses on the highway, I suggest you look into this.
http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...h-newbies.html
I have mine set up like this:
X Band: Off
7: Enabled
b - C - d : Down, Up, Down (5 Seconds)
E: Down, Stay Muted
F: Down, Stay Muted
J: Down, POP Off
Here, we have K-Band falses from radar drones for real-time traffic flow data, so with the V1 set up like this, they are muted. Those drone blasts are very strong, usually more than 6 dots. 30-seconds is too long IMO, maybe not for the city, but on the HWY 5 seconds is perfect.

I don't like option (5) because I want my gradient audio to be weak if the signal is weak, other wise you have no idea how far off the LEO is.
No, (A) mode does not turn X band back on.
PorscheH6;
You should try:
b - C - d : Down, Down, Down (3 Seconds) keeps the drone shot silent.
Re: New V1 owner - rev.3.813 questions
I've tried 3, but it was still letting a couple shots come through, successfully scaring the crap out of me. I think I'll give 4 seconds a whirl next time out.
Re: New V1 owner - rev.3.813 questions
Understandable, Good to know 3-sec holds some or most as I was wondering if newer versions had a slightly different "seconds" tolerance.
Re: New V1 owner - rev.3.813 questions
So option 5 doesn't necessarily make it more sensitive, it makes it alert a little more than what it really is? The default auto-mute is what, 10sec? thks.

Not a single solitary bit more of range. It will practically double the LED's though. What was a 1, is now a 2, etc. Is that your definition of 'more sensitive'? Its technically always ultra sensitive, its always telling you everything it knows (in A mode). Option 5 is strictly for the end-user's listening enjoyment.

Yes. b, C, d pointing to the sky.
Re: New V1 owner - rev.3.813 questions
Thanks guys for clearing up my questions, I now understand the different settings on the V1.
Hopefully I'll get my V1 by Friday to test it out. Road trip! :)

Did you send it in for a tune up? If so, you can call VR and ask them for a tracking number for when they ship it back to you.

Sure did! They received it last Thursday, didn't log it in until Friday at noon when I called again. Then I called yesterday and it was in the repair department when the lady told me it was $45 for the tune up, bam! Charge it. So, I think I will call again today and ask for the tracking number if its available.
The 3 times I've called, I've gotten a lady to help me (not rude at all). I hope I don't keep getting the same lady, I'm afraid she might tag me as a pain in the arse instead of an overly anxious customer!:D
