First V1 Save Today (2 saves)
Interstate, very hilly up and down stretch of road. I am in the fast lane going 80 passing 18 wheelers who are having a hard time getting up the hills. V1 goes off, hit the breaks hard, just as I was getting ready to become the lead car, and bam!. I had 3 seconds before the V1 went solid Ka band.
10 miles down the road, I get another faint Ka hit. I am stuck in the fast lane so I slow down, and about a 1/2 mile down the road there he is facing me. I could see the whites of his eyes, and he hits me with Ka. That time it seemed as if I had a life time to slow down.
Needless to say, having that extra power of the V1 paid off. I keep thinking about how the ix was about .03 miles less sens. than the V1 when I tested it the other day. I wonder if the ix would have saved me?
Very Very happy with my decision to keep the V1.

Nice save, even with the hills.
Re: First V1 Save Today (2 saves)
wow, nice saves!
I'm definitely going to get the V1!
(I'll probably test drive the 9500ix anyway, just in case)

You won't regret it.

Sounds like a Ka instant on encounter..........those are nasty..........
Don't forget that having an 18 wheeler by your side or nearby helps alot in your favor, hence their surface area is much larger and they will feed his radar more than your car would, although still, better safe than sorry.

I tested the ix twice and sent it back twice.

It's a strange feeling when you get hit like that. I find myself wanting to ID the threat before I hit the brakes.
I was telling myself as I was starting my 2 hour commute, that I really don't need a radar detector due to the fact I hardly ever see a LEO in my past 26 or so days of my 30 day trial. Then out of the blue I get hit 2 times within 10 miles.
Going 10 over isn't an automatic ticket, but I have to tell you, the look that last LEO gave me was unbelievable. We actually made eye contact with each other, and I just cruised right past him in the left lane doing like 69 mph. I couldn't believe he even pulled the trigger on me at that speed. I have to believe he would have pulled me over on that one, if he had been given the chance.
I lot of people on here told me the V1 will talk to you. You just can't understand that until you have it for 30 days. The biggest mistake I made was trying out the V1 and Escort at the same time. You need to give each 30 full days instead of 15.

:zombie3: :D
Just got to watch for the Stalker DSR 2x. It can monitor two lanes and up to four targets at the same time. No longer can you hide beside the trucks.

Nice saves! Was the first one I/O on as well? So far I have only encountered lazy constant on radar traps on the interstate, only I/O was in the city. The threat of I/O on my frequent interstate trips still scares me.
